Manchester United moved withing 2 points of leader Chelsea as they defeated Hull City 3-1. Wayne Rooney was brilliant as he stirred MU to victory as much as he turned villain for a moment. Rooney was instrumental in all four goals of the night.
Darren Fletcher made a cross to Ryan Giggs. And Rooney finished a close range strike on the stroke of half-time to make it 1-0. As good as he was in scoring, Rooney could not escape from making silly mistakes. Rooney made an uncharacteristic mistake with a poor backpass. Fagan easily got hold of the ball and made a cross. Rafael tried to prevent Hull from equalising but that caused Jozy Altidore to fall.
Thus, a penalty was rewarded in favour of Hull and Fagan easily scored the equaliser. Soon, Rooney turned from villain back to hero when his cross caused Hull's Andy Dawson to score an own goal. With that, the score is 2-1 in favour of MU. Dimitar Berbatov tapped in to make it 3-1 when Rooney set up for him.
In conclusion, MU rocks...again!!!
* Rooney scores even when pressured by Hulls defender
* Fagan scores from the penalty
* Andy Dawson scores an own goal
* Berbatov celebrates with Rooney after scoring United's 3rd goal
